The philosophy/creed of the Adamantine Arrow. I'm coming to understand this view more and more as time goes on. It's especially true for Christians, I think. We must war against our sin nature, peer pressures, and the world as a whole. We must set ourselves apart, take a stance that puts us opposite to everything the world desires. Some of these Wars are more difficult than others. But those are the ones that really matter, the fights that will define us for the rest of our lives.
But enough of my blah-ing. We've been working out at the ASP or Ammunition Supply Point, this week. It's been pretty boring, as we're not really allowed to touch anything. But we've gotten to watch, and it's been a learning experience.
We went through a test today to establish a baseline for reaction times and such, which will then be used to assess any brain injuries we may have after being around an explosion or a crash of some type. Hopefully they never have to use it, but at least it's there if they need it.
I'm really looking forward to going home next weekend, I can't wait to be able to just go and do whatever for a couple days. See (most) y'all then!

Hey Buddy, Sorry I won't be there next weekend to see you :( i've got a pretty crazy couple weeks ahead. Have fun back home!
ReplyDeleteIndeed. I find this true outside of a religious context as well - we are creatures of emotion, chaos, depravity, what have you.
ReplyDeleteAnd yet we live in a society where base instincts are shunned, where the self must be in some part, however slightly, cast off.
That's not to say I endorse anarchy. I have an affinity for laws and order. But existence is, as you say, war.
And the war makes bitter men.
