NDE.... or not.

So Friday I had a really bad reaction to my smallpox vaccination. I had a fever all day, and I felt like crap. The vaccination site was all swollen and it was just not fun in general. I feel much better now.

Hmmmm.

Not much else has been going on... We got the weekend off. I managed to finish my Character Profile, and I'm now doing some work on my NaNo novel from last year before I start the next Character Profile. (Mostly because I'm waiting on Travis Stewart to send me the bio for his character. So if you like this one, put some pressure on him. Love you, Bud!) I'm linking up with some of the other "Nerds" in my unit, looking at getting involved with a D&D game while I'm in Balad. Which I'm a little excited for, because I've never played.

Aaaand now I'm being forced to put in headphones because the idiots across the room have the basketball game up too loud. I'm starting into The Complete Sherlock Holmes, Vol. 1, put out by Barnes and Noble. I finished Acts today and I'm moving on to Romans tomorrow. I haven't been so good at journaling yet, but I'm working on it. I tried to start Bioshock yesterday, But then a couple guys came in to play, and I didn't feel like being a jerk, so we did some Special Ops on MW2 and Horde on Gears 2. Not a terrible way to burn a couple hours.

Definitely looking forward to my 4-day pass at the end of the month, especially after Brandon Blue expressed interest in running a game of Pathfinder that week. So now I'm just praying he doesn't have to work that Saturday. Then I'll get to see my extended family one last time on Sunday before I leave. I have a lot of things to do, but I'm thinking about spending a few hours Saturday morning chilling at Starbucks with anybody who wants to chill with me.

As always, I love you guys, and I miss you. Please, if you can, comment, But if you don't have an account with Blogger, you can use the guestbook on the right hand side of the page to let me know you stopped by. It's a little dis-heartening when I've only received comments from three people. :/

Happy Day, Mom!

Peace.

  1. Man, way to put the pressure on me! They don't like it at work when I walk in after being gone for the semester and start asking for Saturdays off - I got this one off, and the next one, so things look somewhat grim, I fear.

I have dice, figures, and a board that you can use, though, as well as a partial printed-out bestiary and the core rulebook. Even if I can't GM, I'd like to help as much as I can, if I can!

  2. You've never played D&D? Dude, get a move on!
Hey, email me your address, dude. And the one to send you stuff when you're way-out-yonder, as soon as you know it.

  3. I really need to get on reading my Bible, especially since I have to memorize and entire chapter one semester at Emmaus and read the whole thing by the end of my freshman year.

I ventured into the world of Decent the last couple weeks, I was a melee character both times, I was hoping to be a mage at least once, but no such luck. The first game there was a hallway full of enemies and whilst everyone took the safe way around to try to get at the main enemy (A beasty dragon) I went straight up the hallway swords a blazing...uh....slashing. Josh was the OL and tried to take me out multiple times but I persisted for the most part. I was always used as the "Hey Jason, go take out those guys kthanks" Anywho.

I'm thinking about participating in NaNo this year, I think it will be an interesting challenge to my writing skills which I haven't had in a long time. If I do, I hope you would be able to offer some constructive criticism.

By the way, Amalie and I are going to be communicating primarily through written mail when i'm at camp, maybe we could write to eachother as well? Old fashioned, I know, but if you want send me the address I can reach you at.

    Love ya buddy!
